About the position

The Technical Project Manager role is a senior-level position based in Boston, MA, designed to support a critical project transitioning from one outsource provider to another. This hybrid role requires the candidate to be local to Boston and to work onsite three days a week, specifically from Tuesday to Thursday. The position is expected to last for a duration of 6 months or longer. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, professional, and collaborative skills, with a keen attention to detail. Candidates should have between 5 to 10 years of experience, with a preference for more tenured individuals. A background in leading technical discussions and experience with technical projects and outsourcing is essential for success in this role. In this position, the Project Manager will work directly with the GIT Infrastructure team to execute and facilitate project management tasks, including strategy development, business analysis, resource allocation, and overall project management. The role encompasses overseeing the complete lifecycle of projects, ensuring that all business, operations, and technical efforts are aligned with the project goals and budgets. The Project Manager will foster an open and transparent communication environment among project team members, stakeholders, and sponsors, ensuring that everyone is informed and engaged throughout the project. The responsibilities include managing and executing best-in-class projects that further the business goals of the company, building strong relationships with various business divisions globally, and providing project management, prioritization, direction, and leadership to team members. The Project Manager will also be responsible for developing project scope, budgets, plans, and communication strategies, monitoring project deliverables, and creating metrics to measure project success. Additionally, the role requires conducting lessons learned meetings and analyzing data to report findings to sponsors and teams, demonstrating the ability to work independently on a wide array of corporate projects.

Responsibilities

  • Further the business goals of the company through the direct management and execution of best-in-class projects/solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with business divisions and departments across the company globally; represent, champion and further the goals and opportunities of the company’s teams in support of assigned initiatives.
  • Display, or actively gather, a detailed understanding for the business needs and objectives of the company and related internal clients globally based on project.
  • Provide project management, prioritization, direction, and leadership to team members in order to accomplish defined project deliverables.
  • Plan, implement and control project work.
  • Develop project scope, budgets, project plans and communication plans.
  • Manage and monitor all project deliverables to successful completion, leverage best practices and complete project artifacts as appropriate.
  • Actively create and manage project work plans, issues, risks, and key decisions.
  • Monitor project budget, resources and project team members, escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Work with project teams to allocate resources appropriately. Review demand and capacity and be able to work out conflicts or reprioritize as needed.
  • Actively communicate with project team members, sponsors, and stakeholders.
  • Create metrics to measure project success.
  • Conduct lessons learned meetings/surveys and analyze data and report to sponsor and team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on a wide array of corporate projects.
  • Experience in project lifecycle management, feasibility analysis and conceptual design through development, implementation, training and rollout.
  • Ability to align functional expertise and solutions to meet the changing demands of clients, competitors and regulators.
  • Strong interpersonal and management skills, including the ability to work across the organization and interact/influence/negotiate effectively at all levels of management and peers.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the field of Project Management, maintaining a solid understanding of the field and its related technologies.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with office suite, particularly Microsoft Suite including PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio, and Teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
  • Five or more (5+) years of related project management experience.
  • Practical experience leading projects through all phases of delivery.
  • Financial skills to manage project's operating and capital budgets.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and management skills.
  • Experience designing and delivering presentations and training to diverse audiences, including senior management, administrative staff members, technical and non-technical personnel, and clients.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the company’s management.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Experience Managing Enterprise vendor migration initiatives.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in financial services is required for this role.
