About the position

DMI, LLC is seeking a Technical Project Manager to support a federal customer in the DC Metro area. This role is pivotal in leading and delivering technical and management support in the areas of application development. The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for applying strong interpersonal skills to understand complex, ill-defined problems and procedures, and to brief suggestions for improvement to senior leadership. This position requires the ability to facilitate relations between business groups and technology departments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across functions to implement new standards and practices. The Technical Project Manager will develop and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders across various programs and applications. This includes providing direction to respective teams and other resources supporting agile technology development projects. The role also involves working closely with developers to support and resolve technical issues, providing timely updates and status reports to executive leadership, and developing issue resolution recommendations for executive approval as required. The ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial, as is the capacity to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Proactively solving problems to ensure milestones are met and projects are completed on time and within budget is a key expectation of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver technical and management support in application development.
  • Elicit understanding of complex problems and brief suggestions for improvement to senior leadership.
  • Facilitate relations between business groups and technology departments.
  • Implement new standards and practices across functions.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders across programs and applications.
  • Provide direction to teams supporting agile technology development projects.
  • Support developers in resolving technical issues.
  • Provide timely updates and status to executive leadership.

  • Prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Proactively solve problems to ensure milestones are met and projects are completed on time and within budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • At least ten (10) years of experience managing and delivering larger scale business and technology applications/products.
  • At least three (3) years of experience setting up and leading application development teams.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) experience and ability to lead agile software teams.
  • Good understanding of data modeling, Java/JavaScript web application architecture, and programming concepts.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and other CRM products.
  • Experience building cross-functional relationships with Program subject experts and Business Analysts.
  • Program management experience in large to mid-scale development projects.
  • Expertise in Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and proficiency in Agile tools (Confluence, JIRA, Visio, Azure Dev Ops).
  • Experience with Federal domain application development is preferred.
