About the position

The Technical Project Manager at Nordetect is responsible for overseeing the management of contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) to ensure efficient production activities. This part-time, contract role focuses on managing relationships, facilitating technology transfers, and ensuring production timelines are met with external partners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management within hardware or industrial product sectors, emphasizing process and relationship management rather than direct people management.

Responsibilities

  • Formulating strategic and production objectives in collaboration with external CMOs.
  • Acting as a liaison between Nordetect and contract manufacturers to ensure effective technology transfers and adherence to production timelines.
  • Facilitating and optimizing operational management systems, processes, and best practices with our external manufacturing partners.
  • Overseeing materials purchasing and inventory planning in collaboration with suppliers and CMOs to ensure efficient delivery of products.
  • Monitoring production KPIs and ensuring that production goals are met within budget constraints.
  • Implementing and optimizing Quality Management Systems (QMS) across manufacturing processes by working closely with CMOs.
  • Defining protocols, processes, and compliance measures in collaboration with external manufacturing partners to ensure production quality and consistency.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience (3+ years) as a Project Manager, Operations Manager, or a similar role in hardware, medical device production, or industrial product manufacturing environments.
  • Experience managing contract manufacturers (CMOs) and overseeing knowledge/technology transfers.
  • Familiarity with operational, business, and financial principles, especially as they apply to hardware or industrial production.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience in leading and implementing process improvement projects.
  • Excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration with internal teams and external manufacturing partners.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
