About the position

The Technical Project Manager (TPM) plays a crucial role in the Information Technology (IT) workgroup, focusing on Single Sign-On (SSO) projects. This position is responsible for leading the planning, execution, monitoring, and closing of technical projects, ensuring they meet security and usability standards. The TPM collaborates with various teams to deliver SSO solutions and coordinates the transition of these projects into production with the IT Service Desk.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and delivery of SSO projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the project team, ensuring the technical feasibility of SSO solutions.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and post-project evaluations.
  • Support the creation of requirements documentation and business cases.
  • Coordinate the service transition process for new application and technical services working with IT Support SMEs.
  • Establish the project workspace using appropriate project management tools and techniques to document track project performance, risks, scope, and timeline.
  • Work with the team and delegate the project tasks effectively.
  • Direct the team to achieve a common goal.
  • Responsible for risk management for each project.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (Experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field is desired.
  • Experience with project management methodologies (Agile, Lean, Waterfall, and Scrum) or a related discipline.
  • Certification in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP).
  • Proficiency in various project management and productivity applications, including Project Online, Power BI, Smartsheet, MS Project, Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, Planner), Power Automate.
  • 5+ years' experience as a Technical Project Manager or similar role on a technology team.
  • Strong understanding of SSO technologies (e.g., SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect).
  • Experience with resource, budget, and quality management ensuring the project finishes on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams and fostering an atmosphere of collaboration.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Experience with cloud-based SSO solutions.
  • Experience managing internal and external partnerships with vendors and consultants.
  • Working knowledge of traditional/waterfall and agile project management principles and associated tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
