About the position

As a Technical Project Manager at Universal Avionics, you will play a crucial role in leading engineering teams to achieve company goals and meet customer requirements in the avionics sector. This position involves overseeing projects from initiation to closure, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all regulatory standards. You will collaborate closely with Program Managers and manage both customer and internal research and development projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development of technical proposals and customer specifications prior to contract award.
• Develop project plans for assigned projects.
• Ensure company processes are followed during project execution.
• Work with Export Controls and Compliance to address all considerations before project kickoff.
• Develop and maintain project schedules.
• Meet company goals for schedule, budget, and technical performance.
• Organize and manage diverse teams to ensure project success.
• Identify and manage project risks, including developing a risk management plan.
• Ensure customer needs and expectations are met for respective projects.
• Report project status to Program Management and upper management.
• Monitor and manage technical scope and control product documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Project Engineering, or Systems Engineering) is required.
• Minimum five years of experience in design and development as an engineer or project manager, preferably in the aviation industry.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Well-organized and self-motivated individual.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Scrum methodology (1 year preferred).
• PMP certification (preferred).
