About the position

As a Technical Project Manager at Verizon, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are delivered on-time and on-budget, which is essential for driving innovation for our customers. You will collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to manage multiple deliverables and keep projects on track. Your expertise in project management will be vital as you assign responsibilities and set goals to maintain project momentum and achieve desired outcomes for your team. In this position, you will be responsible for collaborating with assigned teams to understand product definitions and feature scope, developing project timelines, and communicating commitments and project-related decisions effectively. You will facilitate scrum events, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives, while also assisting with release management activities. Summarizing project information into easy-to-understand communications will be a key part of your role, ensuring that everyone involved is kept in the loop and on track. Additionally, you will drive process improvements and adopt best practices to enhance team performance. Your ability to bring people together from different functions to work towards a common goal will be essential, as will your skills in navigating obstacles in a rapidly changing environment. You will find satisfaction in driving projects forward and facilitating collaboration among team members, helping everyone to perform at their best.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with assigned teams to understand product definitions and feature scope, develop project timelines, and communicate commitments and project-related decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience as a Scrum Master, Project Leader, and/or Project/Program Manager.
  • Experience in Software Engineering.

Nice-to-haves

  • A degree in a relevant field.
  • Understanding of agile and waterfall project management methods.
