About the position

The Technical Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and finalization of IT projects, ensuring they are completed within defined timelines and budgets. This role requires strong customer relationship management skills and experience in infrastructure, network security, and voice services. The Project Manager will collaborate with various stakeholders, including agency executive management and IT staff, to incorporate their input into project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Track and report on security audit findings and remediation progress to stakeholders and project teams.
  • Assist agency executive management, division directors, and IT staff in leading project tasks and resources.
  • Utilize project management tools, reports, templates, mentoring, training, and coaching for IT project teams.
  • Work directly with agency staff and vendors to fulfill project requirements.
  • Implement project management best practices, including risk, quality, and change management.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Provide leadership, collaboration, supervision, training, guidance, and support to project team members.
  • Ensure agency compliance with the State's project management policies and standards.
  • Coordinate activities for cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and execute a change strategy, including stakeholder analysis and communication plans.
  • Manage relationships across OIT, customers, and vendors to align projects with business objectives.
  • Manage issues and escalate critical issues for immediate resolution.

Requirements

  • Strong background in customer relationship management.
  • Experience in project management, particularly in IT.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure, network security, and voice services.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to manage project scope, schedule, and cost effectively.
