About the position

The Technical Project Manager at The Select Group is responsible for overseeing multiple medium to large-scale projects within the consumer product field, particularly focusing on the pool division. This role involves leading cross-functional teams through the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to post-release, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget while managing risks and stakeholder communications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage medium to large scale and technically complex departmental and cross-functional product development projects.
  • Lead project teams from concept to post-release using the company's product launch process.
  • Facilitate development Blitz or brainstorming Kaizen events and chair project meetings.
  • Update task, budget, and resource progress on weekly schedule updates, logging issues, risks, and lessons learned.
  • Focus on scope control, schedule updates, budget tracking, and risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, operations, supply chain, finance, and other stakeholders to prioritize project milestones and deliverables.
  • Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and daily task activities with follow-up to ensure timely delivery.
  • Lead weekly cross-functional project meetings and maintain minutes, notes, and action items.
  • Gather feedback from project team members to track progress and mitigate risks.
  • Document all project-related issues and risks, escalating to sponsors and management as necessary.
  • Prepare project status reports and facilitate technical and non-technical meetings to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Develop and maintain technical and project documentation, including project/process deliverables.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience as a Technical Project Manager in the consumer product field.
  • 3+ years of engineering design or manufacturing experience in a medium to high volume production environment.
  • Understanding of the lifecycle of designing, developing, and delivering consumer products.
  • Experience managing and leading communication for mid-large projects.
  • Experience managing project teams developing connected consumer products that include hardware and embedded firmware/software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized with strong relationship-building skills.

  • Experience working with consumer mobile Apps (iOS/Android) related to hardware deployment.
