About the position

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of complex IT projects, ensuring successful delivery within budget, scope, and schedule constraints. This role involves analyzing current processes, gathering requirements, managing stakeholder relationships, and leading project teams to achieve project goals. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including vendors and internal teams, to drive project success.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for analyzing present-state and developing alternative future-state approaches.
• Lead and participate in requirements gathering and analysis sessions with clients.
• Guide stakeholders in defining and documenting project scope, objectives, requirements, and deliverables.
• Independently manage assigned projects to ensure outcomes match customer expectations.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with technical teams to implement solutions.
• Coordinate with internal resources and stakeholders for project execution.
• Manage relationships with vendors/service providers to ensure commitments are met.
• Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills in a team environment.
• Master new technologies and deliver quality products within short time frames.
• Serve as the technical lead for assigned projects and tasks.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, stakeholders, and vendors to drive timely project completion.
• Lead project team status meetings to ensure milestones are met and dependencies tracked.
• Conduct detailed analysis of business processes, systems, and workflows for improvement.
• Perform post-implementation reviews to ensure goals were met and identify lessons learned.
• Manage the full lifecycle of complex IT projects from initiation to closure.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular status reports to stakeholders.
• Manage project risks and issues, identifying and mitigating potential roadblocks.
• Manage project scope changes and ensure documentation and approvals are in place.
• Create, manage, and maintain the project schedule throughout the project lifecycle.
• Create and maintain all forms of project documentation and records.
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Compile accurate and timely daily/weekly project status reports.
• Ensure IT systems and workflows are well-documented for future reference.
• Participate in QA and UAT planning and execution.
• Prioritize projects and address immediate technical needs as they arise.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management/business analysis or equivalent education and experience.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies.
• Project management and coordination skills for leading multiple interdepartmental projects.
• Experience in gap analysis and needs assessments to uncover business needs.
• Experience building user stories and use cases.
• Strong experience leading and motivating teams for small to medium IT projects.
• Ability to identify business and information needs and develop appropriate solutions.
• Demonstrable experience in managing vendor relations within the project lifecycle.
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization.
• Understanding of IT systems and processes, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Advanced troubleshooting, critical thinking, and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize competing projects and propose effective alternatives.
• Advanced knowledge of project management practices and methodologies.
• Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to change.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience working with a COTS based provider is highly desired.
