About the position

The position involves overseeing and managing the operational aspects of ongoing projects, serving as a liaison between project management and various stakeholders. The role requires reviewing project statuses, managing budgets and schedules, and preparing status reports to ensure productivity, quality, and client satisfaction. The individual will also translate mission needs into system designs, monitor project progress, and facilitate communication among stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects.
  • Serves as a liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
  • Reviews status of projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Translates mission needs and business requirements into system, application, or process designs.
  • Serves as an interface to external development teams to communicate requirements, and reviews schedules and deliverables.
  • Monitors projects to ensure work scope and schedule are met and communicates with stakeholders.
  • Tracks actions from meetings, develops process flows, roadmaps, and facilitates internal and external communication with stakeholders.
  • Participates in design reviews (hardware and software) to ensure solutions satisfy business and technical requirements.
  • Develops programmatic control gate documentation and presents at management and technical review boards.
  • Prepares briefings for Sponsor and stakeholders.
  • Provides highlights and written documentation of team accomplishments and concerns.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI with Poly clearance required.
  • BA/BS and 12+ years of experience; Masters and 10+ years of experience; an additional four years of work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to think proactively and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating and working action items to completion.
  • Demonstrated experience exhibiting strong oral and written communication skills, including giving briefings/presentations, planning and facilitating meetings, and providing support for technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to convey complex issues clearly and concisely to senior leadership.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and/or activities.
  • Understanding of project control gate processes.
  • Experience with agile development models/processes.
  • Ability to work independently and across large teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Desktop OS's e.g. Windows, Linux, MacOS.
  • Strong ability to manage relationships with stakeholders.
