About the position

Heartland is looking for a Technical Project Manager to join our team. We're an industry-leading mobile device solutions integrator - we provide our clients with a portfolio of award-winning products and services, and decades of experience simplifying and optimizing mobile workforces. In this role, you will plan, execute, and finalize projects according to deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of project technical leaders, team members, third-party contractors, and clients' internal teams. You will manage the projects, track materials, labor, resources, and financial results, and report on the status of the projects in detail if needed, as well as manage project coordinator(s). Our projects require service, technical support, and technology deployment. This role can be a technical subject matter expert in some areas but will require hands-on experience and specialist knowledge of executing Heartland infrastructure projects. You will manage materials and labor logistics to the project schedule, which includes contracting and delivery of labor & materials resources. This may consist of negotiating with contractors to secure preferable prices and scheduled deliveries, managing change, tracking work on the construction site, cost control monitoring, and document control and records management. Your responsibilities will include assisting with project development and execution from initiation to closure and within budget. You will assist in completing the project charter outlining scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget, and timing. You will manage and identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities, create and execute project work plans, and revise them appropriately to meet changing needs and requirements. You will communicate expectations to team members, lead, coach, and motivate project team members daily, manage the overall master schedule of projects, and effectively facilitate regular team and client meetings. Additionally, you will track and report on project milestones, provide status reports, and communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions. You will resolve any issues and solve problems throughout the project life cycle, ensuring contractual work is performed per customer standards, and comply with and enforce standard policies and procedures. Regular reports to senior management will also be part of your duties. You will build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring that their expectations are understood and met, and maintain strong connections to support business development efforts. You will also develop and maintain relationships with external vendors and partners to leverage their expertise and resources. Tracking and managing project-related time (billable and non-billable) via ConnectWise will be required, along with providing coordination and quality assurance oversight for new installations. This position may require up to 20% travel to client sites or vendor/partner locations, and you will perform other duties as assigned by the operations leader.
