About the position

The Project Management Office is seeking a Project Manager to lead two key initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and capabilities within the State of Maine Postal Agency and the Maine Surplus Property with Central Services. This role involves overseeing the replacement of inserter equipment and supporting the implementation of AssetWorks, while managing a broad portfolio of strategic initiatives across all sixteen agencies under the Executive Branch. The Project Manager will collaborate with various internal and external partners to ensure project deliverables are met on time and with high quality, utilizing methodologies such as Agile.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the replacement of current inserter equipment with modern inserters and updated processes for the State of Maine Postal Agency.
• Support the implementation of AssetWorks for Maine Surplus Property with Central Services.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects from impact assessment through implementation.
• Collaborate with internal and external business and IT partners to achieve project deliverables.
• Utilize project management methodologies, including Agile, to guide project execution.

Requirements

• A combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree with five years of project management experience.
• In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies and a broad understanding of SDLC methodologies.
• Strong understanding of government organization is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in both business and technical environments.
• Proficiency with technical project management tools.
• Effective negotiation skills with business and IT partners on requirements and timeframes for mid-size initiatives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, balancing detail gathering with problem-solving.
• Ability to identify and apply different communication mediums based on content and audience at all levels.
