About the position

The Program/Project Manager at Verizon is responsible for proposal development and project management duties related to the implementation of services won in the proposal cycle. This role focuses on generating revenue through proposal writing for existing and new customer applications, leading cross-functional teams, and serving as the key customer point of contact. The position requires synthesizing complex customer requirements, managing project schedules, and ensuring successful delivery of products and services.

Responsibilities

• Develop proposals for existing products and services as well as new revenue-bearing customer applications.
• Lead cross-functional teams through service implementation and product development activities.
• Synthesize large complex customer business and technical requirements into manageable pieces.
• Develop comprehensive proposal and implementation project schedules and meet deadlines.
• Serve as the key customer point of contact for programs.
• Deliver customer and executive briefings on status updates, technical issues, pricing, and timelines.
• Communicate and translate functional/operational goals into team goals.
• Oversee all aspects of the development and implementation of large projects from concept to final implementation.
• Develop resolutions to complex problems requiring creativity and in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant work experience.
• Previous program and/or project management experience.
• Ability to pass an extensive background investigation as a condition of employment.
• Willingness to travel.

Nice-to-haves

• B.S. or B.A. degree.
• Three or more years of program/project management experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
• Strong financial acumen and technical understanding of telecommunications (voice, data, and/or IP networking).
• Experience with Microsoft Office including Project, Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong understanding of systems development, database management techniques, and applications deployment.
