About the position

The Technical Project Manager at DevTech Systems, Inc. will play a crucial role in supporting the Office of the Chief Information Officer by leading agile teams in the development of website products that leverage data and visualizations. This position involves overseeing the full life cycle of data science solutions, from requirements gathering to deployment, ensuring that projects meet the needs of the agency and end-users. The role requires strong project management skills to estimate and track work, manage risks, and facilitate communication among project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and fully support client's SDLC processes, artifacts, and governance phase gates
  • Assist with capturing project objectives, scope and developing plans and schedules to support these objectives
  • Lead, monitor, and motivate different teams across each project and interact with staff at all levels
  • Analyze, plan, and develop project procedures as needed to ensure coordination and communication amongst project teams and client teams
  • Define the roles and responsibilities along with various stakeholders for each project
  • Participate in the allocation of staff and other resources needed to accomplish or achieve project goals
  • Maintain and manage project plans, schedule, risk & issue logs, meeting minutes, and communicate project status reports
  • Escalate risks and issues that affect a project's schedule
  • Recommend process improvements to help a project, team or organization improve
  • Review proposed modifications on project plans, including meeting with interested parties to approve and implement beneficial changes
  • Assign and oversee the daily tasks of technical personnel while ensuring all subordinates are actively working toward established milestones
  • Hold regular project team meetings to determine individual progress and address any questions or challenges regarding each project

Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in an IT-related discipline
  • US Citizenship
  • Excellent communication skills across a broad range of stakeholders
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality
  • Working technical knowledge of website application development
  • At least 4+ years of relevant project management working experience
  • Professional Project Management (PMP) Certification
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making and supervising development teams

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge and/or proficiency with at least one software development language
  • Prior experience working with one or more defined SDLC methodologies
  • Ability to build relationships across different organizations
  • Current Secret security clearance preferred
  • Prior Platform-as-a-Service, Data Science project experience/knowledge
