Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager to join our team at the Langley Airforce Base in Hampton, VA. This position is a contract-to-hire opportunity supporting the 480th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing, which is recognized as the Air Force leader in globally-networked ISR operations. The ideal candidate will possess an active TS/SCI clearance and have extensive experience in IT infrastructure project management. In this role, the Technical Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex IT projects, ensuring they meet the defined scope, budget, and timeline. The candidate will review project requirements and the executed Statement of Work (SOW) to fully understand the project scope. They will also conduct customer presentations and status meetings to keep stakeholders informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure project management, with at least 2 years managing medium to large projects valued up to $5 million annually. A Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 7 years of overall project management experience are required. Additionally, the candidate should hold a professional certification from PMI or IPMA, which is desired but not mandatory. A strong understanding of IT infrastructure functions, including compute hardware, virtualization, operating systems (Windows/Linux), databases, storage, backup, network connectivity, active directory, and monitoring tools is essential. Training in business process redesign, change management, and information planning methodologies will be beneficial for this role.
