About the position

The Technical Project Manager role at Technumen INC involves managing all aspects of the project management life cycle for complex projects that span multiple organizations. The position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to influence and build consensus, and a focus on continuous improvement and customer value. The role is hybrid, based in Indianapolis, IN, and is a long-term position.

Responsibilities

• Defines the business case and engages in priority setting with input from stakeholders.
• Identifies and gains agreement on project objectives, scope, timing, and resources.
• Ensures project resources are optimally sourced and deployed.
• Oversees the development and execution of project plans, checking progress against measures of success and ensuring value relative to cost.
• Provides guidance in applying project management tools and methodology.
• Oversees and works to resolve issues that serve as roadblocks and/or place project objectives at risk.
• Identifies and provides visibility into trade-offs between options, while strongly influencing recommended approach.
• Ensures project close-out steps are taken to include lessons learned/best practices that inform the success of future projects.
• Fosters an environment in which continuous improvement methodologies are applied throughout the project management lifecycle.

Requirements

• Expert-level ability in managing all aspects of the project management life cycle for multiple items in a complex project.
• Project management certification is strongly preferred.
• Solid ability to connect & engage with employees.
• Strong ability to exercise influence and build consensus; communication skills; promote collaboration, teamwork and change initiatives.
• Displays strong business acumen and integrated thinking.
• Advanced insurance business operations knowledge to include understanding the functions value chain and market conditions strongly preferred.
• Competencies typically acquired through a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
• Relevant hands-on experience to include project management work and prior experience working in an effective leadership and/or management capacity.
