About the position

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Technical Project Manager to lead and oversee large-scale migration projects, preferably focusing on database migrations. This role is critical in ensuring that projects are planned, executed, and finalized according to strict deadlines and within budget constraints. The successful candidate will coordinate the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects as per the established plan. The Technical Project Manager will define project scope, goals, and deliverables that align with business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. They will develop comprehensive project plans that include schedules, budgets, and resource allocation. Engaging stakeholders is essential, ensuring that there is a clear understanding of roles, responsibilities, and expectations throughout the project lifecycle. In this role, the Project Manager will lead project execution, ensuring adherence to project plans and timelines while coordinating cross-functional team activities. They will monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies as necessary. The Project Manager will also manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques. A significant aspect of this position involves developing and implementing data migration strategies, including ETL processes, ensuring successful system integration, and maintaining data integrity throughout the migration process. The Project Manager will oversee all testing phases, provide regular updates to stakeholders, and serve as the primary point of contact for project-related communications. Additionally, they will facilitate project meetings, document key decisions, and prepare project status reports for senior management. The role also includes developing and implementing training programs for end-users and support staff, ensuring a smooth transition and handover to operational teams, and providing post-migration support to address any issues that arise. Finally, the Project Manager will conduct post-migration evaluations to assess success against objectives and document lessons learned and best practices for future projects.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, specifically in large-scale data/system migration projects.
  • Strong technical background with experience in data migration, system integration, and IT infrastructure.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience with project management tools such as MS Project, JIRA, or equivalent.
