About the position

Skvare, a team of website and CiviCRM experts specializing in building online presences for nonprofits, membership organizations, professional associations, and educational institutions, is seeking a Technical Project Manager. This role is pivotal in wrangling client specifications and managing workflow, site configurations, and customizations. The Technical Project Manager will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, along with strong technical problem-solving abilities. This individual will coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and act as the liaison between clients and the Skvare technical team, creating and implementing project plans, tracking project progress, and analyzing project performance throughout the project life cycle. The Technical Project Manager will lead regular communication with clients, serving as Skvare's primary contact. They will look for opportunities to improve clients' technology environments and partner with account managers to communicate these opportunities. The role involves preparing or overseeing user documentation and setting clear expectations on project delivery. The Technical Project Manager will manage day-to-day project workflow, ensuring effective task delegation and monitoring overall project performance and quality. They will also conduct thorough functional reviews of development work and support developers in maintaining technical documentation. In addition to project management, the Technical Project Manager will partner with the Chief Strategy Officer and architect to develop project milestones and timelines, coordinate with account managers for project estimates, and communicate with the CEO regarding team capacity and workload concerns. The role may also involve supporting marketing efforts to share Skvare's expertise and capabilities through various channels.

Responsibilities

  • Lead regular communication with clients; serve as Skvare's primary contact with assigned clients.
  • Look for opportunities to improve clients' technology environments; partner with account manager to communicate opportunities to clients.
  • Prepare or oversee the preparation of user documentation.
  • Work with clients to set clear expectations on project delivery; manage day-to-day progress and communications to update the client on delivery schedules, required information or documentation, and necessary internal or external resources to deliver the project.
  • Regularly review and manage the budget, manage communications with clients about project estimates and project delivery to build the relationship and avoid surprises.
  • Manage day-to-day project workflow and assignments; ensure effective task delegation.
  • Work with developers to define, prioritize and track project scope.
  • Monitor overall project performance and project quality.
  • Hold developers accountable for task assignments and priorities.
  • Conduct a thorough and detailed functional review of development work; document notes from review for internal purposes and client communications.
  • Anticipate and address project roadblocks that may arise throughout project life cycle.
  • Act as a catalyst to resolve project issues and escalate when necessary.
  • Support developers in creating and maintaining technical documentation by recognizing it as a priority and critical part of technical development and delivery.
  • Partner with Chief Strategy Officer and architect to develop project milestones and timelines.
  • Coordinate with account manager to gather project estimates and approvals.
  • Communicate with CEO regarding team capacity and workload concerns for client and project delivery.
  • Support, as requested, marketing efforts to share Skvare's experience, expertise, and capabilities.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; capable of clearly articulating ideas and listening actively to others.
  • Strong technical problem-solver with experience in Content Management Systems, preferably Drupal.
  • Experience with Constituent Relationship Management systems, preferably CiviCRM.
  • Internally motivated, self-starter with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with others to achieve shared goals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to negotiate and resolve conflicts constructively.
  • Experience working in diverse team environments, showing respect for and curiosity to different perspectives and backgrounds.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in marketing and developing case studies of client projects.
  • Familiarity with analytics review and social media promotion.
