About the position

The Technical Project Manager, WCAG Compliance at the Center for Applied Linguistics will oversee the remediation of internet-based English language proficiency assessments to ensure compliance with WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines). This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to identify solutions, manage project timelines, and ensure quality control throughout the remediation process. The position allows for flexible work arrangements, including remote work options.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the remediation of internet-based English language proficiency assessments for WCAG compliance.
  • Evaluate code in QTI packages for WCAG compliance issues and investigate potential solutions.
  • Troubleshoot solutions in collaboration with clients and third-party vendors.
  • Manage timelines, project plans, and work batches to ensure timely completion of QTI remediation.
  • Maintain bug tracking software and manage internal and external workflows.
  • Update QTI packages to ensure compliance with WCAG.
  • Perform HTML, CSS, and XML markup as needed.
  • Document program code and create templates for ongoing development that complies with WCAG.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of QTI packages in various development environments.
  • Interface with the Test Development team and production team as necessary.
  • Supervise the Test Assembly Specialist, WCAG Compliance.

Requirements

  • MA/MS in EdTech, Computer Science, or a relevant field preferred.
  • BA/BS in EdTech, Computer Science, or a relevant field required.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience required.
  • Expertise in software development project management.
  • Experience with maintaining and using bug tracking systems.
  • Proficiency in programming HTML, XML, and CSS.
  • Familiarity with QTI 2.x and 3.x standards.
  • Experience developing web content that adheres to WCAG requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in educational technology projects.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards beyond WCAG.
