About the position

The IT Technical Project Manager at Avangrid is responsible for overseeing the implementation of IT application projects, ensuring that technical solutions meet business requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner. This role involves managing various programs and projects, providing leadership, and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across the organization. The Project Manager will also be responsible for budget management for IT-funded projects, which can range from $100K to $4M annually.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership on various programs and projects.
  • Manages project scope, team development, and execution across business and IT areas.
  • Determines project management delivery style based on methodologies available.
  • Interfaces with global counterparts to review solution design and facilitate best practices.
  • Leads cross-functional project teams and holds regular status meetings.
  • Manages vendor relationships and contingent workers on a project-by-project basis.
  • Participates in preparation of plans and budgets for programs and projects.
  • Reports to management on project progress and status.
  • Develops monthly key project dashboards for review with AVANGRID CIO.
  • Responsible for innovation targets within Global IT and Avangrid.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • 7 years of relevant experience in project management.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Suite.
  • Experience with AGILE methodology (preferred).
  • At least 3 years of experience in various IT areas.
  • Strong service delivery experience, preferably within IT.
  • Experience in leading projects and/or teams.
  • Knowledge of IT design and architecture.
  • Management skills including staff development and budget management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification for Project/Program management (preferred).
  • 3-5 years of IT work experience preferred, including AGILE project management experience.
