The Project Manager II or Senior Project Manager position, also known as Control Account Manager (CAM), is a critical role within the Purchased Products Engineering Division. This position is designed for a Technical Project Manager who will be responsible for the comprehensive planning, tracking, and delivery of project scope. The successful candidate will engage in project management activities that encompass scope definition, risk mitigation, schedule forecasting, and cost monitoring. The role requires a proactive approach to managing multiple moderately complex projects, ensuring that all project commitments regarding cost and schedule are met. In this role, the Project Manager will develop a robust cost and schedule framework for projects and deliverables, intervening as necessary to keep commitments on track. The candidate will provide primary support and guidance for financial planning, monitoring, scheduling, and the preparation and release of technical and schedule information essential for project execution. This includes defining and establishing project element definitions, maintaining schedules, and tracking engineering releases associated with assigned projects. While the candidate will not be directly responsible for executing technical scope, a fundamental understanding of technical details is crucial for effective communication of technical issues and providing accurate project status updates. The Project Manager will also support data aggregation for research and reporting on forecast execution, lead forecast modeling to ensure accurate data visibility, and conduct project overage investigations to realign funding as necessary. Regular updates and project status reports will be provided to both internal Program Management and external Department of Energy (DOE) customers. Additionally, the role may involve administrative and logistical liaison responsibilities within the company, with DOE laboratories, integrated contractors, and other government agencies for one or more programs. The Project Manager may also lead elements of cross-functional facilitation and support business development and company initiatives as required. All activities must be conducted in a safe and healthy manner, adhering to established Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) requirements to protect associates, the public, and the environment. The ability to adapt to real-time changes and handle ambiguous situations is essential, along with effective communication and presentation skills. Proficiency in MS Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is required, as well as the ability to integrate complex concepts and information with project management systems and processes.
