About the position

The Technical Project Manager will oversee engineering projects in the productization and research phases within the Civil Construction Field Solutions division at Trimble. This role involves managing cross-disciplinary teams to ensure projects progress from conception to implementation, focusing on hardware and software integration. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, an agile mindset, and a proven ability to influence teams to achieve project goals efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the Trimble internal process, T5, for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
  • Facilitate the Trimble Learning Cycles process for new technology introduction (NTI) projects.
  • Participate in quarterly roadmap planning with product leadership to align roadmaps with strategy.
  • Act as SCRUM Master for Agile development teams, fostering trust and accountability.
  • Facilitate project gate review meetings to seek stakeholder approval.
  • Provide regular project updates in an executive summary format to drive decisions and actions.
  • Work with teams to develop and maintain schedules, budgets, and resource estimates for projects.
  • Develop strong working relationships with key contributors.
  • Use influence and teamwork to drive results against clear objectives.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience working on engineering teams developing embedded systems using GNSS, IMUs, Lasers, or similar technologies.
  • 5+ years in project management facilitating software/firmware and hardware projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate project status, risks, and recommendations.
  • Mastery of Google Suite, Aha, and Jira.
  • Proficient in using scheduling tools like Smartsheets for managing Gantt charts.
  • Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.
  • Ability to quickly learn new products, projects, and technologies.
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively across multiple projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Trimble processes and tools.
  • Familiarity with additional project management software.
  • Experience in the Civil Construction industry.
