About the position

The Technical Project Manager at CACI is responsible for leading large-scale data engineering and modeling projects within an Azure cloud environment. This role focuses on ensuring the integrity and seamless flow of data across the organization while collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project management and data engineering, particularly with Azure services and data lakes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project management for data engineering and modeling initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Manage and optimize large data sets in Azure, leveraging data lakes, SQL databases, and other Azure data services.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of data models and pipelines.
  • Ensure data security, quality, and governance standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct risk management, issue resolution, and change management processes for all projects.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Monitor project progress, prepare status reports, and communicate project updates to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate project meetings, including stand-ups, retrospectives, and steering committee meetings.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements.

Requirements

  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required.
  • PMP, or Agile/Scrum certification.
  • Azure Fundamentals Certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on data engineering and cloud-based projects.
  • Strong expertise in Azure cloud services, including Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Proven experience working with large data sets, data modeling, and data pipelines.
  • Solid understanding of data governance, data security, and compliance best practices.
  • Proficient in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, or similar.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with machine learning models and AI in a cloud environment.
  • Familiarity with big data tools and technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Databricks.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, agile environment.
