About the position

Schneider Electric is seeking a Technical Project Manager to oversee complex Prefab Customer project orders, ensuring that customer expectations are not only met but exceeded through effective project execution. The role involves managing an Integrated Package scope of work that includes Electrical Enclosures (e-Houses), electrical distribution and automation control systems, HVAC, fire and gas systems, and additional customer features and services. The Project Manager will be the primary contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle, from initiation to closeout, ensuring that all aspects of the project are aligned with customer requirements and company standards. In the Project Initiation phase, the Project Manager will validate the project's scope of work, schedule, cost, and contract terms with the customer, addressing any risks and technical or commercial elements. During Project Planning, the manager will develop and maintain the project organization, schedule, and risk register, ensuring clear communication with the customer and direct engagement with internal manufacturing facilities and third-party vendors. As the project progresses into the Project Execution phase, the Project Manager will monitor the execution of the customer's project order, facilitating kick-off meetings, managing the project schedule, and ensuring effective communication among all parties involved. This includes driving risk and change management processes, resolving issues collaboratively with customers, and fostering positive relationships. In the Monitor and Control Project Work phase, the Project Manager will oversee the performance of the project throughout its lifecycle, verifying task completion, managing project team dynamics, and providing regular updates to stakeholders. The role culminates in the Project Close phase, where the Project Manager will lead financial reconciliation, verify job site equipment arrival, coordinate installation and start-up, and ensure training support is completed. The Project Manager will also capture lessons learned and document approvals for future projects, utilizing their knowledge of Schneider Electric products and project management processes to enhance project outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership for validating the project's scope of work, schedule, cost, and contract terms with the customer.
  • Develop and maintain project organization, schedule, risk register and communicate with the customer to ensure expectations are being met.
  • Monitor the execution of the customer's project order, verifying execution of the project through kick-off meetings and project schedule.
  • Manage decision making process towards the best cross-functional compromise and effectiveness.
  • Drive Risk and Change Managements, solve problems with customer interaction that result in positive feedback and improved relationship.
  • Lead the monitor and control of the performance of the customer's project through its lifecycle.
  • Key activities include task completion verification, project team monitoring, managing the exchange of project updates across the project team members, schedule reporting, issue resolution, and contract administration.
  • Monitor project progress against the plan and establish regular reports to key stakeholders.
  • Lead the closeout of the customer's project to include financial reconciliation, verification of job site equipment arrival, installation and start-up coordination, and training support completion.
  • Capture lessons learned and documentation approvals for future projects.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree required.
  • BS degree in an Engineering discipline preferred.
  • PMP (PMI), CPMP/CPMA SE Internal Certification preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing projects/program.
  • Understanding of systems integration, HVAC or other building or electronic control systems is a plus.
  • Schneider Electric products and Electrical Enclosure integration knowledge is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), including the ability to understand complex technical topics.
  • Strong leadership skills including team leading, employee mentoring and development, and the ability to empower others through delegating responsibility.
  • Strong people skills with a desire to work in a team environment.
  • Proven organizational and time/project management skills.
  • Advanced understanding of project management and project finance.
  • Ability to build and maintain technical and commercial awareness.
  • Ability to define and put in place short- and medium-term action plans to increase customer satisfaction while improving business growth and efficiency.
  • Strong organization, planning and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to, Word, Project, and Excel.
