About the position

As a Technical Project Manager at Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA), you will play a pivotal role in our Project Management team, which is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to the agreed-upon scope, deadline, and budget. This position is integral to our efforts in delivering line of business-driven solutions, particularly within the Salesforce team. You will collaborate closely with senior management and stakeholders to define project scope, success criteria, and deliverables that align with business goals. Your ability to effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders will be crucial in ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget. In your day-to-day responsibilities, you will plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using the required toolset, track project milestones and deliverables, and determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team. You will analyze results, troubleshoot problem areas, and communicate findings accordingly. Identifying, recording, documenting, and tracking risks and issues will be part of your role, as will conducting project reviews with recommendations and strategies for future improvements. You will utilize best practices and tools for project execution while continuously seeking improvement opportunities. We are looking for a candidate who possesses an inquisitive mind, is not afraid to question current processes, and can devise creative solutions to business problems. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential. You will work with and influence a wide range of cross-functional work teams and leaders, making your interpersonal skills just as important as your technical expertise. The ideal candidate will have experience with MS Office products, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, as well as Enterprise Project and Portfolio Management tools like Planview Portfolios. Proven work experience in technical project management, along with a strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and processes, is required.

Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, success criteria, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using required tools.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team.
  • Analyze project results, troubleshoot problem areas, and communicate findings.
  • Identify, record, document, and track risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct project reviews with recommendations and strategies for future improvements.
  • Utilize best practices and tools for project execution, while seeking improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience in technical project management at varying levels of complexity.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience writing clear, concise, and comprehensive status reports.
  • Hands-on experience with various project methodologies, including both Agile and Waterfall.
  • Skills with MS Office Products including Excel and PowerPoint, as well as Enterprise Project and Portfolio Management tools, such as Planview Portfolios.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Legal work authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5-7 years of experience in project management.
