Machina Labs, founded in 2019 by veterans of the aerospace and automotive industries, is a pioneering smart manufacturing company located in Los Angeles, California. The company is at the forefront of developing software-defined factories that leverage advancements in artificial intelligence and robotics. Our mission is to create modular manufacturing solutions that can be easily reconfigured to produce new products simply by altering the software. Currently, we are focused on building the first commercial robotic sheet metal forming machine, a project that represents a significant leap forward in manufacturing technology. With backing from major investors in AI and Deep Tech, we are poised for rapid growth and innovation. We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to join our Applications and Partnerships team. This full-time position is crucial for the success of our operations and the delivery of our cutting-edge robotic manufacturing solutions to clients in the aerospace, defense, and automotive sectors. The ideal candidate will oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and resource allocations are managed effectively. This role requires strong communication skills to liaise with both internal teams and external stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any risks that may arise. In this position, you will collaborate with team members to enhance our project management tools and best practices, enabling the success of our projects through continuous motivation and focus. You will also support other project managers with daily, weekly, and monthly planning, ensuring that all projects are aligned with our strategic goals and executed efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, managing timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Work cross-functionally to establish and execute clear project goals and expectations.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, regularly providing project status updates.
  • Identify active and potential risks, coming up with solutions quickly to maintain project timelines and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with team members to establish and improve our project management tools and best practices.
  • Enable the success of our team through continuous motivation and refocusing throughout every stage of the project.
  • Support the other project manager on the team with daily, weekly, and monthly project planning as needed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years project management experience
  • Previous experience managing projects in manufacturing, production, or distribution environments
  • Strong technical acumen and elite problem-solving skills
  • Track record of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, often ambiguous environment and multi-task effectively
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills
  • Strong communication skills, both interpersonal and written.
