About the position

The Technical Project Monitor at Boston Government Services (BGS) will support the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) by managing the full life cycle of project management activities. This includes funding opportunity announcements, award negotiations, active project management, and project closeout. The role involves collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success and alignment with strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management, performance monitoring, documentation, and progress assessment for DOE funded projects.
  • Support the development, coordination, and management of competitive solicitations and merit reviews.
  • Engage with DOE stakeholders to address needs and gaps at the Federal level.
  • Assist in the development of internal briefing materials for decision makers and contribute to technical reviews of external communications.
  • Represent the program status to senior government officials, congressional stakeholders, academia, and industry partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physical Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management.
  • Professional attitude and project management experience (PMP preferred).
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Demonstrated independent problem-solving skills.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Successful drug screening.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge or experience in renewable energy or energy efficiency technologies.
  • Ability to actively track and monitor government-funded research and development projects.
  • Experience working within DOE EERE.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to balance multiple long and short-term projects and competing priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
