About the position

The Technical Project Monitor at Boston Government Services (BGS) will support the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) in managing the full life cycle of project management activities. This role involves collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective project execution, from funding announcements to project closeout, while representing the program status to senior officials and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management, performance monitoring, documentation, and progress assessment for DOE funded projects.
  • Support the development, coordination, and management of competitive solicitations and merit reviews.
  • Engage with DOE stakeholders to address needs and gaps at the Federal level.
  • Assist in the development of internal briefing materials for decision makers and contribute to technical reviews of external communications.
  • Successfully represent the program status to senior government officials, congressional stakeholders, academia, and industry partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physical Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years' experience in project management.
  • Professional attitude and project management experience (PMP preferred).
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
  • Demonstrated independent problem-solving skills.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance badge.
  • Successful drug screening.
  • Ability to work onsite with a hybrid work schedule.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge or experience in renewable energy or energy efficiency technologies.
  • Ability to actively track and monitor government-funded research and development projects.
  • Experience working within DOE EERE.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to balance multiple long and short-term projects and competing priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
