About the position

PayPal is seeking a Senior Technical Recruiter to join its Global Talent Acquisition Team, focusing on AI and Machine Learning roles. This position is pivotal in overseeing multiple organizations and various skill sets, supported by sourcing and coordination partners. The recruiter will act as a strategic talent business partner, ensuring exceptional candidate experiences throughout the recruitment process. The role involves collaborating closely with hiring managers and business unit leaders to understand hiring requirements, products, and services, while providing consultative expertise on recruitment strategies. In this dynamic and diverse environment, the Senior Technical Recruiter will be responsible for managing the end-to-end hiring activities for assigned requisitions. This includes performing 20-30 recruiter screens per week and filling 10 to 15 roles per quarter. The recruiter will develop innovative recruitment strategies, effectively source candidates, and build a passive pipeline to meet time-to-fill targets. A strong emphasis will be placed on sourcing from underrepresented backgrounds to create a diverse candidate pool. The recruiter will also coach hiring managers on best practices in talent acquisition, conduct market research to inform sourcing strategies, and prepare competitive job offers. Monitoring key metrics related to recruitment performance, such as time-to-fill and drop-off rates, will be essential. The position requires a hybrid work model, with three days in the San Jose office and two days flexible between home and office. Responsibilities

  • Partner with hiring managers and business unit leaders to understand hiring requirements and provide consultative expertise on recruitment.
  • Conduct weekly syncs with hiring managers to provide progress summaries.
  • Oversee candidates through every lifecycle stage, ensuring a smooth interview process.
  • Perform 20-30 recruiter screens per week and fill 10 to 15 roles per quarter.
  • Develop innovative recruitment strategies and manage end-to-end hiring activities for assigned requisitions.
  • Source and build a passive pipeline to meet time-to-fill targets.
  • Focus on sourcing from underrepresented backgrounds to create a diverse candidate pool.
  • Coach and guide hiring managers on best practices in talent acquisition and interviewing strategies.
  • Conduct ongoing market research to develop effective sourcing strategies and provide market intelligence.
  • Prepare, present, negotiate, and close competitive job offers in collaboration with hiring managers and HRBPs.
  • Manage and participate in Talent Acquisition-related projects of varying complexity and priority.
  • Ensure compliance of the ATS system (Workday Recruit) with local rules and regulations.
  • Monitor and guarantee that 100% of pre-onboarding requirements are met.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of tech recruiting experience in a global internet company, eCommerce, or financial services environment.
  • Deep knowledge of the AI and Machine Learning engineering space.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple urgent tasks with professionalism.
  • Experience using a hiring applicant tracking system.
  • Deep sourcing, interview, assessment, and selection experience.
  • Superior interpersonal and negotiation skills, with effective listening and questioning abilities.
  • Ability to simplify complex processes and manage multiple priorities.
  • Quick learner, able to adapt to new knowledge related to Talent Acquisition systems and processes.
