About the position

The Technical Recruiter for Legal and Government Affairs at SpaceX is responsible for sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding candidates for critical positions within the company. This role requires a high level of professionalism and enthusiasm, as the recruiter often serves as the first point of contact for candidates. The position demands collaboration with client groups while also requiring autonomy and initiative to manage the recruitment process effectively. The recruiter will engage in various activities, including candidate tours, interview attendance, and offer negotiations, all while adapting to the fast-paced and dynamic hiring environment at SpaceX.

Responsibilities

  • Run a full desk focused on sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding candidates.
  • Meet with client groups to discuss headcount, new requisitions, hiring strategy, and interview feedback.
  • Screen candidates who apply to requisitions and source candidates who are not actively looking.
  • Discuss screened candidates with client groups and recommend top candidates for interviews.
  • Give tours to candidates before their onsite interviews.
  • Attend interviews alongside client groups to evaluate candidates.
  • Initiate background checks, negotiate offer packages, and extend offer letters once candidates are approved for hire.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 1+ years of recruiting experience; or associate degree and 2+ years of experience; or 3+ years of professional experience as a recruiter in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience recruiting for legal and/or government affairs roles.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years of experience recruiting for legal and/or government affairs positions.
  • Experience with in-house recruiting.
  • Experience with technical recruiting.
  • Experience with high volume recruiting.
  • Strong tenure with demonstrated success in recruiting roles.
  • Full life cycle recruiting experience, from sourcing to closing.
  • Comfort with reviewing, evaluating and reporting on recruiting data.
  • Ability to distinguish between the top 50% and the top 5% of talent within their respective fields.
  • Demonstrated expertise in non-standard recruiting methods.
  • Comfortable interfacing directly with hiring managers including director and VP level technical leaders.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with both hiring managers and candidates.
  • Ability to accurately present but not oversell candidates to client groups.
  • Ability to multi-task and operate with little direction while still being an active team member.
