About the position

The Employment Specialist at TechNation Careers plays a vital role in supporting refugees and immigrants in their pursuit of equitable employment opportunities. This position involves client intake, volunteer mentor onboarding, business development, and job prospecting, with a focus on creating pathways to employment for diverse populations. The ideal candidate will have experience in technical recruiting and familiarity with apprenticeship programs.

Responsibilities

• Identify and refer qualified candidates from the database to partner employers based on job openings.
• Assist clients in job searching and application processes, focusing on DEI hiring initiatives.
• Establish partnerships for apprenticeship pipelines with business partners for entry-level job seekers.
• Engage with employers to promote the benefits of partnering with TechNation Careers.
• Conduct searches of employer databases to match job seekers with suitable positions.
• Provide coaching and support to candidates, including resume reviews and interview preparation.
• Develop and maintain relationships with employers and community partners to expand job opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records of candidate placements and employer interactions.
• Create weekly reports of job availabilities based on agreements with employment partners.
• Champion the needs and strengths of diverse populations to ensure equitable access to job opportunities.

Requirements

• Proven experience in recruiting and business development.
• Strong background in working with diverse populations.
• Experience in mentorship and career coaching.
• Familiarity with curriculum and workforce development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Proficient in using relevant software and tools.
