About the position

The In-House Technical Recruiter will be responsible for identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent for a civil engineering firm. This role involves collaborating with the HR Manager and CEO to understand hiring needs and develop effective recruitment strategies, focusing on technical recruiting within an HR setting.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the HR Manager and CEO to determine staffing needs and develop job descriptions.
  • Source, screen, and interview candidates for various technical positions within the firm.
  • Utilize a variety of recruiting methods including job boards, social media, networking, and industry-specific channels.
  • Develop and maintain a strong talent pipeline for current and future hiring needs.
  • Conduct thorough candidate assessments, including reference checks and background screenings.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers, providing timely follow-up and feedback to candidates.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of innovative recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of candidate interactions and recruitment activities.
  • Provide regular updates to the HR Manager and CEO on recruitment progress and challenges.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in recruiting to continuously improve our hiring processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in technical recruiting, preferably within an HR setting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills.
  • Ability to bring fresh, innovative ideas to the recruitment process.
  • Proven track record of successfully filling technical positions.
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruiting software/tools.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
