About the position

The Technical Sales Account Manager is responsible for developing and managing a designated territory in the Savannah, Georgia area. This role focuses on creating and executing marketing and sales plans to effectively cover accounts, foster relationships with key customers, and drive sales growth across various product offerings. The position requires engaging with upper-level customer management to understand their business goals and present tailored solutions, while also utilizing CRM tools to track opportunities and maintain an active customer database.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage assigned territory, marketing, and sales plan for efficient account coverage.
  • Create and foster relationships at target accounts.
  • Drive sales growth in product offerings including fittings, valves, regulators, hoses, measurement devices, sampling systems, and custom solutions.
  • Identify and engage upper-level customer management to develop relationships and present solutions.
  • Utilize CRM to track opportunities and actions associated with growing business with select accounts.
  • Identify initial opportunities and serve as project pursuit team leader for customer projects.
  • Develop applications and industry-specific knowledge for primary products and services.
  • Maintain an active customer database with key contact information and activity history in CRM.
  • Create detailed Account Plans for assigned accounts to achieve growth goals.
  • Develop a plan to convert targeted accounts that do not currently buy from the company.
  • Conduct maintenance and engineering prospecting seminars to introduce new products and services.
  • Achieve or exceed key sales metrics as determined by management.
  • Work with Marketing to develop and execute specific marketing plans for assigned customers.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in technical sales or account management.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to uncover customer needs.
  • Experience in engaging with upper-level management and decision-makers.
  • Proficiency in using CRM tools for tracking sales activities and customer interactions.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic account plans.
