About the position

A great leading manufacturer of energy-efficient control equipment is seeking a Technical Sales Account Manager to join their team. This role involves managing customer interactions, handling quotes and inquiries, and providing exceptional technical support. The ideal candidates should have prior technical sales experience related to capital equipment and a strong grasp of manufacturing processes. As a Technical Sales Account Manager, you will be the direct and first point of contact with external customers regarding the sale of our entire product line across various industries. You will interact with existing and potential customers via telephone, e-mail, or in person to qualify sales leads and sell products and services. Your responsibilities will include creating and presenting quotations to customers, emphasizing value-add features and explaining the benefits of selecting our product. You will follow up with customers on quotations to help obtain orders, discuss objections that may prevent the placement of orders, and offer alternate options if needed. Proactively following up with prospective new customers to generate sales will also be a key part of your role. You will review purchase orders for proper model number, quantity, pricing, customer request date, and terms, coordinating special reviews with engineering or operations as needed. You will be responsible for meeting and exceeding monthly and quarterly sales targets and goals. Possessing thorough knowledge of all products, processes, and policies will be essential to support and exceed customer requirements. Developing an understanding of the customer base, market, and individual customer needs while building and maintaining customer relationships will be crucial. You will need to overcome technical and business objections of prospective customers to win the business and provide product demos to qualified customers upon request. Additionally, you will work with other sales team members to keep account activities and literature up to date and complete customer visits as needed and approved to build relationships and secure additional business. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of related experience in manufacturing, industrial or engineering sales.
  • Preferred Bachelors or Associates degree in a technical discipline.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with internal and external customers at all levels of the organization providing courteous, timely and accurate information.
  • Preferred to have analytical competencies and technical aptitude with respect to refrigeration, control engineering and fluid dynamics.
  • Has the knowledge to do Heat Transfer Calculations (heat loads, btu loads).
