About the position

The Technical Sales Account Manager will be responsible for driving sales and building strong relationships within the Thermal Spray and Advanced Ceramic Materials segment in North America. This role involves leading business development efforts, promoting advanced functional materials, and achieving revenue targets through effective account management and customer engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales and business-development activities to achieve design-win and revenue targets with customers and OEM partners in the US.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key decision makers at our customers.
  • Identify new market opportunities and quantify business potential, time frames, and commercial and technical requirements.
  • Collect and maintain relevant information on markets, product applications, and competitor activities.
  • Collaborate with Product management to develop strategies for market penetration and revenue growth.
  • Develop and implement detailed strategies for individual accounts.
  • Work closely with Sales Administration personnel, R&D, application & quality management.
  • Ensure excellent customer satisfaction, proactively address customer issues, and foster long-term partnerships.
  • Analyze customer requirements and develop customized solutions that align with their business objectives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to effectively position our products.
  • Prepare and follow up on quotations submitted to customers.
  • Manage customer and partner accounts and business reporting.
  • Provide forecasts, budgets, and management reports.
  • Identify commercial and technical requirements to drive targeted sales strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical Discipline such as Materials, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Physics.
  • Business experience in product development, dealing directly with customers and technical personnel.
  • Ability to navigate complex situations within the OEM landscape and distribution.
  • Highly motivated to achieve sales targets and results-oriented with strong business acumen.
  • Excellent customer support and multi-tasked product management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills related to technical concepts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in technical sales within the advanced materials sector.
  • Familiarity with thermal spray materials and advanced ceramic materials.
