About the position

CaptiveAire is seeking a driven and motivated Technical Sales and Field Service Engineer to join our sales team. This position focuses on growing business with existing customers while also developing new business opportunities. The role will involve a combination of applications engineering, sales support, and field service work. As a Sales Engineer, you will be expected to thrive in a results-driven, fast-paced environment, where your contributions will directly impact the success of the company. The position will include extensive formalized training, where you will work under a mentor to develop your skills and gain a comprehensive understanding of CaptiveAire products, our go-to-market strategies, application engineering processes, and business development techniques. You will be equipped with the knowledge necessary to effectively support our customers and promote our innovative solutions. In this role, you will provide integrated application engineering and design support for a wide range of ventilation applications, ensuring that we deliver sustainable products and the latest technologies tailored to meet our customers' needs. You will collaborate directly with engineers, contractors, end users, and food service dealers, engaging in daily tasks that include inside sales support, application engineering, and outside sales. Your responsibilities will vary and may include making presentations, preparing quotes and submittals, providing technical product support, conducting job site visits, and troubleshooting as needed. You will also be responsible for educating and promoting CaptiveAire products through conference calls, meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations. Researching and developing new business opportunities with both new and existing users will be a key aspect of your role. Providing top-notch customer service and demonstrating a willingness to go above and beyond to serve our customers will be essential. Quick turnaround times will be a priority, and you will initially train in New Hampshire for a few months before transitioning to work out of Hartford, Connecticut.

Responsibilities

  • Provide integrated application engineering and design support for a wide range of ventilation applications.
  • Work directly with Engineers, Contractors, End Users, and Food Service Dealers.
  • Perform inside sales support, application engineering, and outside sales tasks.
  • Prepare presentations, quotes, submittals, and provide technical product support.
  • Conduct job site visits and hands-on troubleshooting as needed.
  • Educate and promote CaptiveAire products through various communication methods.
  • Research and develop new business opportunities with new and existing users.
  • Deliver top-notch customer service and demonstrate a willingness to exceed customer expectations.
  • Ensure quick turnaround times for customer requests.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience preferred in a related field.
  • 4-year technical degree in a mechanical, electrical, construction, or physics-oriented curriculum.
  • Excellent computer, organizational, and communication/presentation skills.
  • Strong desire to interface with customers and provide support.
  • Embrace new technologies and demonstrate business savvy.
  • Passion for work with an aggressive nature to succeed.
  • Willingness to travel for various training opportunities.
