About the position

CaptiveAire is seeking a driven and motivated Technical Sales and Field Service Engineer to join our sales team. This position focuses on growing business with existing customers while also developing new business opportunities. The role will involve a combination of applications engineering, sales support, and field service work. As a Sales Engineer, you will be expected to thrive in a results-driven, fast-paced environment, where your contributions will directly impact the success of the company. The position will include extensive formalized training and mentorship, allowing you to develop a deep understanding of CaptiveAire products, our market strategies, application engineering processes, and business development techniques. You will be responsible for providing integrated application engineering and design support for a wide range of ventilation applications, ensuring that our products meet the sustainable needs of our customers while incorporating the latest technologies. Your daily tasks will involve inside sales support, application engineering, and outside sales activities. Responsibilities may include preparing presentations, generating quotes, creating submittals, providing technical product support, conducting job site visits, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. You will also be tasked with educating and promoting CaptiveAire products to users in your market through conference calls, meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations. A strong emphasis will be placed on customer service, with a commitment to quick turnaround times and a willingness to go above and beyond to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide integrated application engineering and design support for a wide range of ventilation applications.
  • Work directly with Engineers, Contractors, End Users, and Food Service Dealers.
  • Perform inside sales support, application engineering, and outside sales tasks.
  • Prepare presentations, quotes, submittals, and provide technical product support.
  • Conduct job site visits and hands-on troubleshooting as needed.
  • Educate and promote CaptiveAire products through conference calls, meetings, presentations, and product demos.
  • Research and develop new business opportunities with new and existing users.
  • Deliver top-notch customer service and demonstrate a willingness to exceed customer expectations.

Requirements

  • 0-5 years of experience preferred.
  • 4-year technical degree in a mechanical, electrical, construction, or physics-oriented curriculum.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Excellent computer, organizational, and communication/presentation skills.
  • Strong desire to interface with customers.
  • Embrace new technologies and possess business acumen.
  • Passion for work with an aggressive nature to succeed.
  • Willingness to travel for various training opportunities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales or customer service roles.
  • Familiarity with commercial kitchen ventilation systems.
