About the position

CaptiveAire is seeking a driven and motivated Technical Sales and Field Service Engineer to join our sales team in Sioux Falls, SD. This position is crucial for growing business with existing customers and developing new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will engage in applications engineering, sales support, and field service work, all while thriving in a result-driven, fast-paced environment. The role will involve extensive formalized training and mentorship, allowing the engineer to develop skills and gain a comprehensive understanding of CaptiveAire products, market strategies, application engineering processes, and business development techniques. As a Technical Sales and Field Service Engineer, you will provide integrated application engineering and design support for a wide range of ventilation applications. Your goal will be to deliver sustainable products and the latest technologies tailored to meet customer needs. You will work directly with engineers, contractors, end users, and food service dealers, ensuring that you understand their requirements and can provide effective solutions. Daily tasks will include inside sales support, application engineering, and outside sales, with responsibilities that may vary from presentations and quotes to technical product support and job site visits. In this role, you will also be responsible for educating and promoting CaptiveAire products to users in your market. This will involve conducting conference calls, meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations. You will be expected to research and develop new business opportunities with both new and existing users, providing top-notch customer service and demonstrating a willingness to go above and beyond to serve the customer. Quick turnaround times will be a priority, and your ability to troubleshoot and provide hands-on support will be essential to your success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide integrated application engineering and design support for a wide range of ventilation applications.
  • Work directly with Engineers, Contractors, End Users, and Food Service Dealers.
  • Perform inside sales support, application engineering, and outside sales tasks.
  • Conduct presentations, quotes, submittals, and technical product support.
  • Visit job sites and provide hands-on troubleshooting as needed.
  • Educate and promote CaptiveAire products to users in your market through calls, meetings, and demos.
  • Research and develop new business opportunities with new and existing users.
  • Deliver top-notch customer service and ensure quick turnaround times.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, result-driven environment.
  • Experience in sales or customer service is preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of HVAC systems and ventilation applications is a plus.
