About the position

As a Technical Sales Engineer for the West region at Getinge USA Sales, LLC, you will play a crucial role in providing sales and technical support for the Sterile Transfer business segment within the North America Life Science division. Your primary responsibility will be to leverage your knowledge of the organization's services, products, and marketing techniques to drive profit margin and market share growth, ultimately achieving the business targets set for Getinge Life Science. This position requires collaboration with sales colleagues to develop strategies for engaging with priority accounts and nurturing key customer relationships. You will be responsible for conducting both in-person and remote sales of Getinge's Sterile Transfer products across the U.S. and Canada, targeting Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) as well as Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology customers. The territory encompasses a wide range of states, and it is essential that you reside within this area, ideally close to a major airport to facilitate travel. Your role will involve achieving sales, growth, and profit margin targets, while also identifying opportunities to expand market share among existing and new customers. You will work closely with sales and business analyst personnel to create comprehensive strategies for account penetration, ensuring that you accurately review Sterile Transfer Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and define project scopes through customer interactions. Additionally, you will provide support to the Life Science Sales teams through joint calls, site visits, and technical solutions, while effectively utilizing company-provided tools such as Salesforce.com and Teams. Maintaining positive relationships with customers and internal teams is paramount, and you will be expected to respond to inquiries promptly and professionally, adhering to Getinge's Code of Conduct and values. Participation in training seminars, conferences, and trade shows will also be part of your responsibilities, as will the need to stay updated on product information and technical data to enhance your competence in meeting job requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales, growth, and profit margin targets for the Sterile Transfer business segment within Life Science.
  • Conduct in-person and remote sales of Getinge's Sterile Transfer products across the U.S. and Canada to OEM and Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology customers.
  • Target existing and new customers to grow market share.
  • Collaborate with sales and BA personnel to formulate strategies for comprehensive account penetration of Sterile Transfer products.
  • Review Sterile Transfer RFQs, qualifying and defining project scopes through customer interactions and drafting quotations.
  • Support Life Science Sales teams with joint calls, site visits, technical solutions, bid reviews, and factory interactions.
  • Develop account-planning activities, monitor and update plan progress, and submit updates and reports on schedule.
  • Utilize customer relationship and internal business management tools effectively (e.g., Salesforce.com, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Communicate effectively with BA and Factory personnel regarding product value propositions and applications.
  • Conduct virtual customer-facing sales discussions and travel for in-person meetings as required.
  • Provide market feedback to the BA R&D and innovation teams.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers and internal personnel, behaving professionally at all times.
  • Participate in training seminars, meetings, and on-the-job training programs.
  • Foster a business climate that maintains and expands positive relationships with customers and internal personnel.
  • Maintain personal competence through effective use of product information and technical data.
  • Participate in conferences and trade shows.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • 2 years of sales experience preferred in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech market in consumables and/or equipment sales.
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, applied science, or a similar technical discipline.
  • Experience in application-based conceptual and strategic selling of capital equipment and/or consumables and services.
  • Demonstrated experience in RFP and RFQ preparation, analysis, and presentation.
  • Knowledge of biopharmaceutical manufacturing, especially final fill/finish processes.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical concepts as they apply to aseptic transfer.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to promote positive exchanges with internal and external contacts.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills, strategic planning, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent skills using Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license required.

  • Experience in the life sciences industry.
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software beyond Salesforce.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.
