About the position

GEA Flow Components North America is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to join its Equipment Sales Group. This position is integral to the technical application and sales operations of GEA Flow Components, which includes four key product lines: Hygienic valves and components, Aseptic valves and components, Cleaning Technology, and Hygienic Pumps. The Technical Sales Engineer will provide inside technical support for these product lines, primarily serving customers in the food, dairy, beverage, brewing, and pharmaceutical processing industries. The role involves direct customer support for all technical and proposal inquiries related to the FLC product lines. The Technical Sales Engineer will implement Fluid Dynamics concepts to size optimal pumps, valves, and cleaners for specific hygienic applications and systems. This includes determining special product specifications by sizing control valves, safety valves, vacuum valves, cleaners, pig systems, and expansion compensators. The engineer will also apply the correct communication or control modules to the flow component products to ensure proper integration into the customer's overall system design. In addition, the Technical Sales Engineer will utilize product sizing and selection software such as Hy5 and Configit to choose appropriate pump and valve products. Close collaboration with factories in Europe and US fabricators is essential, as is the arrangement of special product transportation and logistics as required by customers. The engineer will work alongside Regional Sales Managers and Product Managers to generate and manage customer proposals and orders for the US market, applying product and industry knowledge to create value-added proposals when preparing quotations. Familiarity with SAP-PEM system software for quoting, order entry, creating purchase orders, and invoicing is also required. The position may involve conducting occasional product warranty evaluations of returned products and field retrofits of components, as well as collaborating with GEA Product Engineering to develop and apply product selection and quoting tools in conjunction with sales channel partners.
