About the position

The Sales and Estimation role at ANDRITZ is pivotal in driving the sales of projects, mill outage services, and debarking line audits. This position is not only about selling; it involves a strategic focus on generating further business in maintenance, rebuilding, and upgrading existing equipment. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders within the wood group to ensure that projects are executed effectively and align with the company's targets. The overarching goal is to secure ANDRITZ's position as the preferred partner in North America, which requires a deep understanding of customer needs and market dynamics. In this role, you will be responsible for making project-related sales decisions while adhering to global process guidelines. You will propose regional targets based on global initiatives and budget outlines, ensuring that customer satisfaction is prioritized through responsive and high-quality proposals. A holistic understanding of the customer’s business is essential, as is the ability to excel in customer relationship management. You will also be tasked with collecting and disseminating market information and competitor intelligence, which is crucial for strategic planning and the launch of new products and business models. Your contributions will extend to marketing and customer-facing events, where you will execute timely updates in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, manage work priorities, and adapt to changing customer and business needs. Building trust and solid relationships through integrity and transparency is key, as is the ability to actively listen to understand the expectations and needs of both customers and internal stakeholders. You will interact with industry decision-makers, requiring sensitivity to multicultural factors during negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • Address project related sales decisions utilizing Global process guidelines
  • Propose Regional targets based on global initiative and budget outlines
  • Provide excellent customer satisfaction utilizing responsiveness and quality proposals
  • Achieve holistic understanding of the customer business
  • Excel at customer relationship management
  • Collect and disseminate market Information and competitor intelligence
  • Sales lead development functions including strategic planning, and launch of new products and business models
  • Contribute to marketing and customer facing events
  • Execute timely CRM entries, updates and forecasting
  • Prioritization of work, including readily shifting priorities to respond to changing customer and business needs
  • Identify potentially adverse customer responses and develop solution-oriented alternatives
  • Operate with integrity and transparency to build trust and solid relationships
  • Active listening skills to understand the expectations and needs of the customer and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to interact with industry decision-makers (General Manager, Purchasing Director and Technical Director) and sensitivities toward multicultural factors in negotiation

Requirements

  • Education: Engineering or Technical Degree
  • Experience in sales and financial management tasks
  • General knowledge of the Pulp and Paper Industry
  • Wood processing, bulk handling equipment or industry related sales experience preferred but not required
  • Strategic planning and leadership skills
  • Excellent oral presentation and written communication skills in English language
  • Ability to collaborate as a cross-functional team player and effectively interface with other internal departments
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills: ability to understand, prioritize, and respond to multiple external and internal customers' demands and to manage conflict constructively
  • Ability to multitask in a fast pace entrepreneurial environment
  • Display flexibility to rapidly changing schedules and travel
  • Feeling comfortable and competent to self-initiate initiatives in a compliant fashion
  • Ability to understand and apply Standard Operating Procedures, work instructions and company Compliance/Regulatory/Legal guidelines
  • Regional adaptation, communication, and implementation of Division's Global strategy, targets, and business processes
  • Regional coordination and alignment across Product Groups for Service, Capital, PPAD, and other key stakeholders
  • Business coaching of key position holders to provide specialized knowledge and grow market share
  • Proficiency with the utilization of computer, including the Microsoft Office platform (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Excel, OneNote) and experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
