About the position

The Technical Sales Engineer will manage day-to-day activities related to order management and costing processes at ATL MN. This role is crucial for achieving ATL's sales and EBITDA goals, acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on costing processes and ensuring effective communication with customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage day-to-day activities around ATL MN order management and costing processes.
  • Setup customer costing project folders and create new cost sheets using the latest template revision.
  • Create Workfront costing projects for ATL MN site only costings.
  • Understand the NBO approval process and ensure opportunities are approved before costing activities start.
  • Analyze customer quote packets for gaps in requirements and ATL capabilities.
  • Complete costing requests for final manufacturing locations in Minnesota.
  • Coordinate costing efforts for subassemblies and components manufactured in MN and sent to other ATL sites.
  • Participate in the weekly Global Costing Meeting.
  • Manage shoot and ship opportunity management.
  • Gather required information from customers to ensure requests meet shoot & ship guidelines.
  • Use costing tools to cost out runs and follow the costing process.
  • Load information in CRM for traceability and provide quotes to customers using the required template.
  • Process, verify, and update customer purchase orders and maintain records of customer POs and COs.
  • Respond to incoming calls, emails, or inquiries from customers and internal stakeholders regarding order status.
  • Prepare summary and detailed reports of orders for customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Keep the ERP system updated with new customers, products, and revisions, as well as product costs and prices.
  • Receive customer feedback and input it into ATL's QuickBase system, following up until issues are resolved.
  • Coordinate returns of materials by customers and generate credit notes as necessary.
  • Maintain communication with planning regarding production and finished product plans.
  • Manage and update the forecast for each customer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and supplemental applications such as ERP systems and Contact Management Software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • High level analytical skills and technical aptitude.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including comfort presenting to stakeholders at all levels.
