About the position

The Technical Sales Manager for Coatings & Packaging at Mitsui Chemicals America, Inc. is responsible for managing sales and marketing efforts, developing new customers and applications, and implementing the Mid Term Plan (MTP) and budget across North America. This role aims to enhance the company's business portfolio and increase sales by optimizing product offerings and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. The position requires strategic planning, market analysis, and customer relationship management to drive growth in the division's products.

Responsibilities

  • Plan the Mid Term Plan (MTP) and Budget according to MCI Group strategy and policies.
  • Implement and achieve the MTP and Budget, holding accountability for results and maximizing profit.
  • Drive marketing activities by gathering market information and understanding customer needs.
  • Increase sales volume and revenue by analyzing trends and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Manage accounts and provide customer support, acting as the primary contact for technical and quality support.
  • Develop new business opportunities by identifying market needs and proposing contracts.
  • Ensure product compliance with relevant regulations and support internal departments as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, or polymer science.
  • At least five years of experience in sales and/or marketing in the packaging, polymer, plastic, coatings, or chemical industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience in leading teams and growth initiatives.

  • Track record of success in 'pull-through' sales.
