About the position

The Technical Sales Manager is responsible for supporting all commercial activities related to technical sales, both pre and post-sales. This role involves acting as a technical ambassador for the company, providing expert support to customers, managing technical training for sales and marketing teams, and identifying new product opportunities based on customer needs. The position requires significant travel, both domestically and internationally, to engage with clients and support technical discussions.

Responsibilities

  • Support all commercial activities pre and post sales from a technical standpoint.
  • Provide technical support to customers and investigate complaints.
  • Act as an ambassador for the company in customer events and discussions.
  • Participate in client discussions for technical sales opportunities identified by the Sales Manager.
  • Support the customer development process until final application.
  • Address and lift customers' technical objections during the opportunity process.
  • Identify unmet technical needs of customers and potential new products or solutions.
  • Translate performance requirements into product specification requirements.
  • Act as a link between customers and R&D/Operations for new product development.
  • Manage the qualification process for new products at customer sites.
  • Respond to significant quality issues raised by customers and analyze causes and solutions.
  • Liaise with operations and quality managers for solution identification and implementation.
  • Manage technical training for sales and marketing personnel in the area of expertise.
  • Build a network among the customers' technical community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Civil Engineering, or a Business-related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years equivalent experience in hydraulic binders, mortars, building chemistry applications, and dry mix mortars formulations.
  • Customer-oriented with the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Good communication and strong organizational skills.
  • Self-starter with flexibility, resilience, proactivity, autonomy, and motivation.
  • Interest in working in dynamic groups and being a team player.
  • Ability to use common IT tools such as Excel, Word, and web tools.
  • Mandatory use of English (technical and commercial); Spanish and Portuguese are desired.

Nice-to-haves
