About the position

The Technical Sales Manager will serve as a crucial link between the engineering team and clients, focusing on building and maintaining strong relationships while understanding and addressing their technical needs. This role involves significant client engagement, proposal development, and achieving sales targets within the safety instrumented systems (SIS) sector, particularly in industries such as petrochemical and oil and gas.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and nurture relationships with existing and potential clients, understanding their needs and providing technical expertise on SIS-TECH's offerings.
  • Develop a base level understanding of instrumentation, controls, and SIS to effectively communicate how SIS-TECH's expertise aligns with client needs.
  • Coordinate the preparation and presentation of accurate and detailed proposals based on customer specifications in collaboration with the engineering team.
  • Participate in activities to ensure an up-to-date understanding of industry trends, new products, and opportunities that may benefit SIS-TECH.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to pursue continuous learning and technical knowledge improvement to deliver accurate information externally.
  • Achieve sales targets by actively seeking out new business opportunities and expanding the customer base.
  • Self-manage business development efforts, accurately report results, and maintain strong communication with the home office while offsite.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, business management, business development, or 10 years in a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in technical sales, preferably within the petrochemical industry.
  • A base level understanding of petrochemical instrumentation, controls, and SIS is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to comprehend complex technical information and present it clearly.
  • Results-oriented mindset with the ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
