About the position

As a Technical Sales Manager (TSM) for SD-WAN at Palo Alto Networks, you will play a crucial role in establishing strong relationships with customers and partners to enhance their cybersecurity posture. Your primary responsibility will be to act as a trusted advisor, guiding clients in the detection and prevention of advanced cyber threats while advising on the deployment of applications from the Palo Alto Networks platform. This position requires a deep technical understanding of cybersecurity products, integrations, and the critical cyber threats that our customers face. You will work closely with Account Managers and local partners to architect and propose validated solutions tailored to the specific SD-WAN and security challenges of each customer environment. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and documenting specific problems faced by prospective and current customers, which can be addressed through the deployment of integrated solutions. Ensuring ongoing customer satisfaction and support will be paramount, as will your commitment to continuous self-improvement and learning to maintain technical leadership in relevant technologies such as data center, SDN, public cloud, security, and networking. You will also need to understand and effectively differentiate Palo Alto Networks' offerings against top competitors, acting as the customer advocate for any technical issues that arise and ensuring follow-up until resolution. Responsibilities

  • Establish yourself as a trusted advisor on Palo Alto Networks' SD-WAN products and capabilities to prospects and customers.
  • Architect and propose validated solutions addressing identified SD-WAN and security problems in each individual environment.
  • Identify and document specific problems with prospective and current customers that can be solved through integrated solutions deployment.
  • Ensure ongoing customer happiness, support, and adoption of solutions.
  • Pursue continuous self-improvement and learning to maintain technical leadership in applicable technologies.
  • Understand and effectively differentiate against top competitors.
  • Act as the customer advocate for any issues requiring technical assistance and follow up with the customer through resolution.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant technical pre-sales systems engineering work experience within the networking field.
  • Highly advanced experience with SD-WAN architectures/providers and BGP routing.
  • Experience with WAN technologies such as MPLS, MetroE, Leased Lines, and Broadband.
  • Knowledge of tunneling protocols including SSL/TLS, IPSec, GRE, and DMVPN.
  • Familiarity with IP Routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, Static, and Network Address Translation.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as ESX, KVM, Xen, and Microsoft preferred.
  • Understanding of network security capabilities including IPS/IDS and Zone-Based Firewalls.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
