About the position

The Technical Sales Manager at Teledyne Controls is responsible for driving sales growth in the US and Canada by developing new prospects and nurturing existing customer relationships. This role requires a strong understanding of technical solutions, particularly in the avionics sector, and involves collaborating with customers to address their challenges and ensure a seamless sales process. The position demands expertise in managing complex technical projects and proposals, with minimal supervision required for day-to-day tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Grow market share by securing orders for our solutions in the Americas region.
  • Close deals to achieve quarterly and annual orders quotas.
  • Educate customers on the value proposition, technical capabilities, and benefits of our solutions, including complex avionics programs.
  • Manage a portfolio of accounts, interfacing with customers at all levels to identify decision makers and create strong business cases.
  • Promote and champion our solutions effectively.
  • Position proposals to win business while maintaining healthy profit margins.
  • Lead pricing strategy and manage final deliverables to customers, including presentations, quotes, proposals, and contract management.
  • Create and maintain Account Development and Capture Plans.
  • Capture and share competitor intelligence and feedback on our solutions from various perspectives.
  • Gather marketplace information on products, delivery schedules, pricing, and merchandising techniques to monitor competition.
  • Attend educational workshops, review publications, and engage in professional societies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in avionics engineering, business, marketing, or related technical discipline preferred.
  • 2-5 years of related experience selling or working on commercial avionic programs for airlines, OEMs, or integrators.
  • Working knowledge of complex avionics and aircraft systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with US-based airlines; experience working in Canada is a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency in French or other languages is a plus but not required.
