About the position

Mektec International Corporation (MIC) is seeking a full-time Technical Sales Project Manager to join our team in San Jose, CA. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth execution of projects, managing logistics, and overseeing inspections to guarantee efficient project management on a daily basis. The Technical Sales Project Manager will be the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, providing timely responses and follow-ups through direct communication. This position requires a proactive approach to understanding customer business needs and recommending plans for continual improvement and innovation to maintain and grow sales. In collaboration with Design Engineers, the Technical Sales Project Manager will provide essential engineering support, guiding customers towards the best product solutions while facilitating the development of profitable business relationships. The role involves preparing pricing proposals, presenting quotations, and negotiating order details with customers. Additionally, the Technical Sales Project Manager will interface with customers, factory personnel, and design engineers on production and prototype orders, ensuring that all parties are aligned and informed throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will also work closely with the Engineering Department to determine how products and services can be designed or modified to best meet customer needs. This includes obtaining and updating technology roadmaps, development, and production schedules from customers. The role will require coordination and travel to Asia, primarily to production facilities in China, to ensure that projects are executed effectively. Other duties and special projects may be assigned as needed, making this a dynamic and engaging position within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Handle customer inquiries promptly and follow up through direct communication.

  • Interface with customers, factory personnel, and design engineers on production and prototype orders.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Department to design or modify products and services to suit customer needs.
  • Obtain and update technology roadmaps, development, and production schedules from customers.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans in conjunction with management.
  • Coordinate and travel with customers to Asia, primarily to production facilities in China.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
