About the position

As a Technical Sales Representative at Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company, you will play a crucial role in driving revenue and profit growth through a consultative sales approach. This position involves building and maintaining relationships with existing customers, executing system assurance programs, and converting competitive accounts. You will also be responsible for providing technical support and promoting innovative water treatment solutions to ensure optimal customer operations.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and execute sales plans in existing customer base and assigned competitively-held accounts to meet profit increase goals.
  • Work closely with current and prospective customers to understand business needs and recommend continuous improvement and innovation plans.
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders within current and prospective customers, including plant or facility executives.
  • Provide technical support to customers, identifying and resolving challenges, and escalating as required.
  • Engage in problem solving by performing system analysis, interpreting data, and providing written recommendations to ensure optimal customer operations.
  • Actively sell and support Nalco Water innovations and technology to promote long-term business relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in the water treatment or specialty chemical industry.
  • Five years of technical sales or field sales support experience.
  • A current and valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial) or life sciences (biology, chemistry, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of boilers, cooling towers, and wastewater treatment systems.
