About the position

At Trane Technologies, we are committed to creating innovative climate solutions that challenge the status quo for a sustainable world. Our Graduate Training Program (GTP) is designed to develop future leaders in the field of Technical Sales. This 5-month program is recognized as the industry's most comprehensive training initiative, providing participants with intensive training in technical skills, business acumen, sales engineering, and leadership. The program begins with onboarding at a predetermined office location, followed by training that starts in either January or July. As a participant in the GTP, you will become a technical expert for our valued commercial customers, helping them solve challenges and sell Trane Technologies' climate solutions products. This role is crucial in achieving a more sustainable world, as you will be part of our mission to create comfortable, efficient environments. After successfully completing the program, you will transition into the role of Associate Account Manager, specializing in Systems, Services, or Controls, where you will work closely with engineers, architects, contractors, and owners to design and sell HVAC systems and controls. This position is remote, with work performed in Carrollton, TX, and involves relocation for 5 months of training in La Crosse, WI, followed by less than 15% travel in a defined geographic area. Compensation includes a base salary, lodging, a daily stipend during training, and uncapped commission opportunities post-training.

Responsibilities

  • Sell efficient heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment and building management controls to commercial, industrial, and institutional customers.
  • Work with engineers, architects, contractors, and owners/developers in the design, application, and sale of systems, controls, parts, and services for customer buildings.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with commercial customers by addressing their challenges and providing solutions.
  • Participate in intensive technical, business, sales engineering, and leadership training during the Graduate Training Program.

Requirements

  • Possess a bachelor's degree in engineering (open to all engineering areas of emphasis).
  • Be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months and provide proof of insurance with no major or frequent traffic violations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales or customer service roles.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems and building management controls.
